Runspired!

I got myself out to run today and after the first km I had a big hill to go up and it didn’t break me!  Then I had a short recovery and another hill – still not broken, then a longer recovery and another big hill and I still felt good!!!!  The comeback is ON!  WOO!

On a roll!

Alright, I’ve managed to get of the couch a few more times and now I’m on a bit of a roll.  I ran on Sunday and the last two nights I managed to do a decent eliptical workout at the gym.  My knee’s been bothering me so I thought the eliptical would be a good substitute to keep my cardio up.  I’m going to try actually running again tonight.  Of course all of this comes down to motivation and I still find it difficult to find that push.  Music helps a lot, but today in my twitter feed I found a link for a video that could provide some motivation and I searched around for a few others.  I hope they will runspire me, and maybe they’ll give you a push.

Runspiration found, sort of.

I did it, I managed to run yesterday afternoon, despite some minor health issues.  I thought maybe a bit of exertion might improve the earache.  I’m not sure it did, but I managed to get out and run, so that was good.

Of course, it was awful.  I am so out of shape!  I think I might be in the worst shape I’ve been in over the last five years at least.  I only ran for about 20 minutes and I thought for sure I was going to be sick.  I’m hoping that was related to the ear/sinus problems I’m having.

Despite all of that I’m going back out tonight.  I have a running partner coming to town for the weekend and we have agreed that there will be no dinner until we’ve run.  We might need to do 5 & 1 intervals, but we’ll run!!

Runspiration Lost.

It’s been almost 15 months since I last posted anything here.  I have run a lot during that time, but not much since last fall.  I am terribly out of shape and since I have signed up for a 10k run in October I figured I had better find my runspiration again.

I was all set to go out after work tonight, but I got sidelined by an earache.  There’s always a reason not to run, I need to work on finding more reasons to run.  Hopefully trying to keep this up again will help me get running!
